I wrote an eZine article about finding mentors and learning from them. Technologists know that learning never stops when school is out. We are continually learning the latest tool, technique, and process to build a quality technological solution.
My current focus is stressing that no one can build quality systems alone. That you need to engage the business community. No one has accomplished this better than Randy Pausch. He was a technologist that got it! He built the bridge between technologists and artists. It is so evident in the Alice Project at Carniege Mellon University.
I considered Randy Pausch one of my top mentors. I mention him often in my speeches, seminars and writings. One of my disappointments in life is that I did not have the opportunity to meet him in person. I’m grateful that I saw AND CONTINUE TO LEARN from his “Last Lecture” and “Time Management” Lectures on YouTube. Mandatory watching for any technologist that wants to continue his education.
My thoughts, prayers, and virtual strength go to the loves of his life…wife, Jai and three wonderful kids.
Helping all size businesses find growth opportunities and demolish internal roadblocks to success.
